When the winds blow… Runway 25 offers up some great views!!!
Parked just near the 25 threshold at Sydney Airport (SYD/YSSY) theres a great opportunity to get ‘up close and VERY personal’ to some heavies; Qantas 64 from Johannesburg OR Tambo (FAOR / JNB – B744) and FedEx 77 from Honolulu (HNL/PHNL – MD11F)!
Sure, you still get some great views of the smaller frames, B738’s, A320’s, Saab 340’s to Dash 8’s, its all on offer here!!!
One of the best approach shots can be spotted from here, some trees in the bottom of frame, and with thanks to a building with a whole roof reflecting light to the underside of the aircraft, a quick trigger can be rewarded!!!
Today’s ATIS was for 25 arrivals, and 16L/R departures, so with a scanner in hand, and both Aviation Spotters Online’s very own YSSY Flightradar page and Plane Finder running, its easy to track the flights here in Sydney (and if theres a runway change, easy to get to a new location as well)!!
