Phil Munsel travelled from Rockhampton to see his 1st Dawn Stike. As it was Phil's first time he wanted to enjoy the action with the crowds to capture the reaction's from everyone.

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of 2OCU the unit painted up the tail on F/A-18A Hornet A21-16. Here is a complete walk around of the aircraft straight out of the paint shop.

This year after a few years of hard work and alot of planning the idea of capturing one of the displays from a helicopter was made possible. The Saturday was the chosen day as Sunday is race day and the helicopter with the live broadcast equipment has to be in the air for the start of the race. On Sunday my location was on top of Rydges Hotel roof which is located on Conrod Straight just before the last turn on to the start finish line.

It's just one of those things in anyone's life if you love aviation ...... What would it be like to land on a aircraft carrier and then be catapulted off again ? I for one really never put too much thought into it. After all, what are the chances of it ever happening ? With Exercise Talisman Sabre in full swing in two main locations across Australia and off her coastline, ASO headed to Darwin to capture the action and, on the final day of covering the exercise, this question got answered.

RAAF KC-30 Tankers from 33SQN played a major role in Talismen Sabre 2015 the largest Exercise held in Australia. This year the USS George Washington participated and onboard the Strike Fighter Squadrons of the VFA-102 100 series Diamondbacks F/A-18F Super Hornet, VFA-27 200 series Royal Maces F/A-18E Super Hornet, VFA-115 300 series Eagles F/A-18E Super Hornet, VFA-195 400 series Dambusters F/A-18E Super Hornet and VFA-141 500 series Shadowhawks EA-18G Growler's.

F/A-18A Hornet Display at the Australian International Air Show performed by "Bung" from 2OCU showcasing the power and agility of the Hornet.

Australia's most elite fighter pilots are in the air through Northern Territory skies as part of the Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) elite training course. The 33rd Fighter Combat Instructor Course (FCI) takes the very lucky few top pilots and challenges them to take it to the top level. Exercise Aces North started in the Territory on Monday and involves five fighter pilots and 22 aircraft, including classic and Super Hornets.

Exercise Northern Shield was held at RAAF Learmonth in WA. It was the 1st time an exercise was put together to test the ability to project a large Force long distance at short notice.

Warbirds Downunder 2015 Sunday departure gave the ASO team a chance to get some last minute action of just how awesome the F/A-18 Hornet is.

Bathurst 1000 race day Sunday display 2015 since the display was pre race it was time for a different location and what a spot it was.

2OCU Pre Flight Walk Around before Family Day display is a rare chance to see Bung getting ready for his display for all the family members.

2OCU Family Day Display from Control Tower is something that many will ever get the chance to take in but ASO had the opportunity to capture this display in what might be the best light of the year on any display.

Exercise High Sierra 2015 includes live drops of weapons and ASO was there to capture it. Each drop is a MK83 1000lb High Explosive Bomb.

ASO was invited on base to capture the everyday action while Exercise High Sierra was in full swing.

2OCU "Tiger Bird" is the final flight of the year for the students and the instructors. Together they fly back from RAAF Townsville and head home for RAAF Williamtown where they form up into a 13 ship formation fly over of the base and local area before one last beat of the year on the base.

To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of 3 Squadron it was decided to paint F/A-18A Hornet A21-27 in the desert scheme of CV-C used by the RAAFS 2nd highest ACE of WWII and also one of the CO\'s of 3SQN. Robert \"Bobby\" Gibbes used CV-C but this code was also used n many other aircraft.
