In November 2006 Bush Fires again sweep through the upper Blue Mountains and like other years before the the Erickson Air Crane swung into action. Here in action we have N720HT “Shania” and N194AC “Delilah” working non-stop all day from a dam in the Hartley at the western base of the Blue Mountains.

The turn around time for each drop was around ten minutes and apart from refueling they both flew non stop in day light hours. In Part 1 below, we show the pick up point for these flights and and in Part 2 we show the action and the Airbase where they get refuelled.

Aviation Spotters Online has many hours of footage to come showcasing the amazing work these new Aerial Fire Fighting assets bring to the capability of the NSWRFS and how they now fight wild fires. ~ Mark Jessop
